TOPIC: THE EFFECT OF COOPERATIVE PURCHASING ON THE PERFORMANCE OF KASANA HEALTH CENTRE IV.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
With the growing flexibility, modernity and globalization, the embracement of cooperative purchasing has made procurement/ purchasing operations real, easy and convenient for entities. Adopting cooperative purchasing in an organization helps to lower administrative costs by sharing responsibilities, improve responses from vendors, lower costs through increased volumes, minimize duplication of roles during procurement, sharing of information, financial gains and others (Kamann, 2004, Schotanus et al, 2005). Although organizations have succeeded in adopting cooperative purchasing in their daily operations, they still face challenges in their operations like over dependence due to collaboration, it is risky to over rely on others during times of a turbulent environment (Williamson 1985). Other challenges include limited cooperation, trust and limited supply base due to over bargaining by the cooperative which scares away suppliers (Gray 2002). It is therefore upon this that me as a researcher seeks to examine the Effect of Cooperative Purchasing on the Performance of Kasana Health Centre IV.
